This year, 706 schools across Ohio will lace up their cleats and hit the gridiron in 11-man contests, with the regular season kicking off the week of August 18. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or new to the game, all the details — including divisions and regional alignments — are now live at [OHSAA Football 2025] (https://www.ohsaa.org/Sports-Tournaments/Football/Football-2025).

What’s new for 2025? Twelve schools have stepped up a division thanks to the OHSAA’s competitive balance analysis, which ensures a fair and exciting competition landscape. Additionally, 34 schools remain in their higher divisions from last year, making a total of 46 schools competing at elevated levels to keep the games fierce and thrilling.

Preparations are in full swing! Teams can start up to 13 days of summer practice without pads beginning May 12, with an extra five days starting July 15 for the mandatory acclimatization period.
