Tosses hat into the ring

ANGOLA, IN (NWPR) – Officially, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Mike Meeks will be seeking the Republican Party nomination in a race for sheriff. He declared his candidacy recently at the National on the Public Square.

“I have been preparing myself to serve as Steuben County’s constitutionally elected Sheriff for nearly all of my career. I have served under five different Sheriff’s over the last 27 years,” he expressed. “I have taken every opportunity I could that was presented to me by each of those Sheriffs along with my own initiative to grow, learn, and forge my path from a Confinement Officer forward and upward through the ranks to the office of Sheriff.”
