Alumni fun-filled weekend set

MENDON, OH (NWPR) – Beginning on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 7:00 pm, at the Mendon Library Annex, Harrison French will give a historical presentation covering the building of Ft. Adams by General “Mad Anthony” Wayne on the St. Marys River, the men of Union Township, and Mendon people who fought in the Civil War during the Mendon-Union Alumni Association Annual Weekend celebration.

On Saturday, May 31 beginning at 7:00 am, the Fire Department Pancake Breakfast will be serving up pancakes, sausage, biscuits and gravy, and at 8:30 am to Noon, in the town hall parking lot, the 4th Annual M-U Alumni Cruise-In offers a feast for your eyes on this gems of yesteryear, like cars, motorcycles, trucks, and tractors.

More weekend events include the 129th M-U banquet on Saturday beginning at 5:00 pm. Call Jim Shaffer at 419.795.5511 for reservations.

On Sunday, June 1, goers are invited to worship at one of the city’s two churches in town, and at 11:45 am, there will be a pork chop dinner at the Mendon Community Church offered by the M-U Alumni.

And it is not over, Susan and Dave Ohl aka Two Groovy will be performing in the park of the old school grounds, beginning at 6:30 pm, with tunes of the 60s and 70s.
